The big day is here. It’s finally arrived. Whether you’re the bride, groom, groomsmen, parents or parents who have children in the wedding, this day is meaningful and important. I wrote this guideline for how to be your best on wedding day many years ago, but it is still relevant today. It’s the little details that make a wedding day nearly perfect. This will be a five part series. Today, we’ll focus on how to be the best bride on wedding day.
Bride
Yes, it is all about you. All eyes are on you, but it’s important to not be a brat or ego maniac. You are the hostess of the largest event thus far in your lifetime.
- Be kind to those who have loved you and gone out of their way for you.
- At the reception, be gracious.
- Thank everyone throughout the night.
- Thank all of your vendors that you actually see on the big day.
- Dance even if you don’t love it.
- Ask special family members to join you on the dance floor too.
- If you love to dance, enjoy it, but don’t ignore your guests.
- Take small breaks to mingle.
- Do not get intoxicated. You will regret it, and your pictures cannot hide it.
- Write your thank you notes within three months of the wedding.
This is by no means an extensive list, but if you keep these in mind on your wedding day, you’re well on your way to being the best bride. 😉
